Harford County Sheriff's Deputies Investigate Suspicious Death

EDGEWOOD, Md. (WJZ) -- Harford County sheriff's deputies are investigating a suspicious death.

According to officials, they were called to a home on the 1700-block of Fountain Rock Way to check on the resident Sunday morning.

When they arrived, the door was locked, but a TV was playing inside. Deputies saw blood on the door. When they entered, they found Robert Wesley Johns, 51, dead on the floor inside.

Officials say the home was in disarray and a preliminary investigation indicates this is a homicide.

Sheriff's office spokesman Ed Hopkins says investigators are looking at whether Johns' death is related to another call to the home about nine hours earlier.

Johns' body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy.
