Former Orioles Great Rick Dempsey

Rick Dempsey, the Baltimore Orioles 1983 World Series MVP, joined Ed & Steve to talk about the Orioles. Baltimore is currently 10-8 after taking two out of three against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Orioles will start a three game series with their AL East rival the Toronto Blue Jays Monday.

Dempsey started off by talking about the late Earl Weaver. He said how Weaver taught the guys how to win and Dempsey was playing to win so it was great. He also told the story about he and Weaver ended up throwing equipment at each other in the dugout.

Ed asked if there is anyone like Earl in the majors today. Dempsey said absolutely not and that Earl wouldn't make it in the game today. He said that Buck Showalter is similar in terms of preparation but Earl was one of a kind.

Steve concluded the interview with asking Dempsey's opinion of Jake Arrieta. Dempsey said he would absolutely stick with Arrieta because he has seen some progress but that he definitely needs some help.
