Consultant Offers Options For Hagerstown Ballpark

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- The city of Hagerstown is considering three possible sites for a minor league ballpark that would replace 82-year-old Municipal Stadium.

The Herald-Mail reports that Ripken Design presented its proposal for three locations to the City Council Tuesday.

All three are in the city's East End, near the existing stadium.

Municipal Stadium is home to the Hagerstown Suns, a Class A affiliate of the Washington Nationals.

Suns co-owner Tony Dahbura says the club prefers a concept that would place the new stadium in Hager Park, just west of Municipal Stadium.

But a nearby resident says that would eliminate the only green space in the neighborhood.

The other proposed locations are the former Washington County Hospital site and another spot just west of Municipal Stadium.
