Carmelo Anthony Doesn't Blame LaLa For Being Upset Following Game 5

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- LaLa Vazquez, Knicks star Carmelo Anthony's wife, has made it public that she's upset with Celtics guard  Jordan Crawford.

And Melo believes that she has every right to be.

Anthony and Crawford had some words for each other after the Celtics defeated the Knicks in Game 5 at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night, and the Boston reverse allegedly made a derogatory comment about Vazquez.

The six-time NBA All-Star sympathized with LaLa when speaking with reporters on Friday.

"I would be upset, too, if I was her,’’ Anthony said. "She’s always getting thrown into the mix of the Boston Celtics series. I would be upset if I was her. She’s her own person at the end of the day. It’s nonsense to me. I don’t pay attention to it. I told you the other day it wasn’t worth you all typing that."

As we all remember, this isn't the first time that Anthony's celebrity wife has been at the forefront of the Knicks-Celtics rivalry.

Back on January 7 at the Garden, Melo confronted Kevin Garnett after KG reportedly told the small forward that his wife “tastes like Honey Nut Cheerios." The NBA subsequently suspended Anthony after he waited for Garnett at the Celtics' team bus after the game.

Vazquez took out her frustrations with Crawford on social media following the incident. She posted to her Instagram page: “STRONG WOMEN only intimidate weak men."

Crawford denied that he said anything negative about Melo's wife.

Anthony struggled in Game 5, shooting 8-of-24 -- including 0-of-5 from the three-point line -- from the field. He finished the contest with 22 points and seven rebounds.

Game 6 will tip off on Friday night in Boston at 7:00 p.m.
