BALTIMORE (AP) — Baltimore Gas and Electric says customers recycled more than 400 room air conditioners through the company’s recycling drop-off event last weekend.

The company offered customers $25 for old air conditioning units as an encouragement to upgrade to newer and more energy efficient models. Customers turned in the units on Saturday and Sunday at Eastpoint Mall in Dundalk and Sears at Hunt Valley Towne Centre in Hunt Valley.

Customers who turned in air conditioners will receive a check for them in approximately four weeks.
