A strong line of thunderstorms passed through central Maryland earlier this evening, producing gusty winds, heavy rain, frequent cloud to ground lightning and even hail in some spots.

A cold front associated with these storms will be pushing through tonight, followed by a secondary cold front on Mother’s Day. This secondary front will help to usher in chilly Canadian air, dropping our high temps significantly into the lower 60s by Tuesday.

Plenty of sunshine will otherwise be in the forecast through mid-week. Then another chance for showers and thunderstorms will move in to finish out the week, along with warmer temps. #mdwx
