2 Sentenced In 2010 Slaying Of DC Teen

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Two people have been sentenced to prison in the kidnapping and slaying of a teenager in 2010.

Twenty-year-old Cinthya Proctor was sentenced to 21 years and 24-year-old Laurence Hassan was sentenced to 18 years on Friday in D.C. Superior Court. Both pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, kidnapping in the death of 18-year-old Latisha Frazier.

Prosecutors say Proctor and Hassan were part of a group who lured Frazier to an apartment and beat and choked her because they believed she had stolen money from one of them.

Her body was later placed into a garbage bin, and prosecutors say it's believed to be in one of two landfills in rural Virginia.

Proctor and Hassan are the six and seventh people found guilty in the crime.
