15-Year-Old Boy Drowns In Scotts Cove In Laurel

LAUREL, Md. (WJZ) -- Montgomery County police say a 15-year-old boy has drowned in Scotts Cove in Laurel.

Witnesses heard the teenager screaming for help in the water around 4 p.m. Monday.

They said he then disappeared.

Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services located him three hours later and brought him to shore.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Laurel Rescue in Howard County assisted in the search.
