LAUREL, Md. (WJZ)—Police say a Laurel woman was not wearing a helmet and did not have on lights when her illegal dirt bike collided with a car Wednesday night.

Police say it happened around 10:30 p.m. when the dike bike driver—22-year-old Emily Rose Day—was traveling southbound on Knights Bridge Road, in the area of Stebbing Way, and collided with a northbound car attempting to make a left turn.

Day is listed in serious but stable condition at Shock Trauma.

Tae Ok Daily, 58, of Laurel, the driver of the car, was not injured.

Day and Daily were the single occupants of their respective vehicles.

The collision is still under investigation.
