Former Terp and European Pro Drew Nicholas joined Zinno to talk about the NBA Finals between the Heat and the Spurs. “LeBron is such a tough match up,” said Nicholas as he and Zinno both agree that King James could take over this series. Both guys think that Miami has the deeper bench with guys like Ray Allen, Norris Cole, Chris Anderson and Shane Battier. The Spurs bench has one huge star, Manu Ginobli. “He’s the only other guy outside of (Tony) Parker that can create for them,” said Nicholas. He followed that up with Dwayne Wade being the x-factor for Miami. “If Dwayne Wade is healthy, I don’t see Miami losing.”

The format of the NBA Finals changes. It is now the 2-3-2 format instead of the 2-2-1-1-1, which was used for the rest of the playoffs. Nicholas thought that was important because if San Antonio can steal one of the first two, they then have three straight at home and it will be difficult for Miami to take two of three on the road.

Both guys think that Miami will ultimately win the series. Nicholas said in six games. Zinno called it in five.
