Hundreds Of Outages As Andrea Brings Heavy Rain
WASHINGTON (AP/WJZ)-- Hundreds of customers are without power and motorists are facing messy roads as Tropical Storm Andrea approaches the mid-Atlantic region.
BGE is reporting about 800 customers without power about 2 p.m. Friday in central Maryland.
Pepco is reporting about 2,000 customers in the dark in Montgomery and Prince George's counties and the District.
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch until 8 p.m. Friday for Dorchester, Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties in Maryland.
The Weather Service has also issued a flash flood watch for most of the region through Friday evening. Transportation officials around the region reported accidents and lane closures due to standing water.
The Maryland Transportation Authority is warning of possible Bay Bridge delays Friday because weather conditions will prevent two-way traffic on the westbound span.
