WEATHER BLOG: Keep Your Rain Gear Handy!

Extra cloud cover today helped keep any thunderstorms or showers from developing across the region. We had a few breaks in the clouds which helped temps top out around 80 degrees this afternoon at BWI. A few thunderstorms have developed mainly to our south and west. A warm front will push through tomorrow bringing us wide-spread shower activity, quickly followed by a cold front that is expected to spark a few t-storms by the late afternoon and evening. Because the ground is still fairly saturated from the tropical moisture absorbed just a few days ago, minor localized flooding will be our largest concern.

A scattered shower or thunderstorm will linger into Tuesday, followed by a brief period of drying out that will last through the first part of Wednesday, all thanks to high pressure. Another disturbance will move in Wednesday night into Thursday bringing us the threat of more heavy downpours, with our main concern being strong and damaging winds.
