Man Dies After Car Crash With Pr. George's Officer

BOWIE, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County police say a car crash involving a police cruiser has left a man dead.

Police say an on-duty officer was responding Wednesday morning to a report of a car crash in Bowie when his vehicle collided with another car. The driver of the other car died of his injuries.

It happened shortly after 3 a.m. at the intersection of Route 197 and London Lane. Police did not say whether the cruiser's lights and siren were activated.

Police are investigating the cause and trying to determine who is at fault.
