Md.'s Cumberland Now Has Sister City In Estonia
CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) -- Cumberland now has a sister city in Estonia.
The Cumberland Times-News reports Cumberland Mayor Brian Grim and other city officials made Vilijandi Cumberland's sister city Wednesday, sealing the deal over Skype.
The paper says there had been a relationship between Estonia and Allegany County in the past, but it had not developed. A new Vilijandi mayor reached out to renew the relationship.
Members of both groups said they hoped to arrange mutual visits in the future. Estonia is located on the Baltic Sea, 60 miles due south of Finland.
