BALTIMORE (WJZ) — The Super Bowl-winning Ravens are looking to honor community volunteers across the state.
As Gigi Barnett explains, they’re teaming up with M&T Bank to find outstanding youth groups.
Is your youth group working to stamp out hunger or teaching youngsters a love for reading? Maybe you’re working to get the vote out.
No matter what it is, the Baltimore Ravens are looking to recognize stellar community youth groups.
The Super Bowl-winning team is kicking off its 14th Annual Ravens’ Honor Rows Program.
“We know there are a lot of groups out there and we don’t always get a chance to reach out to them,” said Baltimore Ravens Spokesperson Heather Darney.
Darney says many of the team’s current and former players are passionate about giving back to young fans.
“The number one thing we always look at is, how can we make somebody else better?” former Raven Ray Lewis said. “It starts with our kids.”
Youth groups who are honored will get a chance to see the team in action and get up close with some players.
Ravens officials say they will honor several community youth groups this fall. All that’s needed is an application and a 100 word essay describing why your youth group is the best.
