17-Year-Old Indicted In Md. Man's Death

ST. MICHAELS, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State Police say a 17-year-old has been indicted in the death of a St. Michaels man whose body was found on a rural road.

A Talbot County grand jury returned an indictment Tuesday charging Matthew Mikowski as an adult with 2nd-degree murder and other offenses in the death of 18-year-old Samuel Cross of Easton. Mikowski was arrested Tuesday afternoon in Wernersville, Pa., and is being held pending extradition.

Cross' body was found near his car on June 10. The medical examiner ruled the cause of death was asphyxiation and the manner of death was homicide.

Troopers say Cross, Mikowski and other acquaintances were behind Mikowski's home June 9 and may have used LSD. Police say Mikowski restrained Cross around the neck until he died.
