Metro Weekend Work To Affect All 5 Lines

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro says it won't be closing any stations this weekend, but all five lines will be affected by work.

Metro says work will start Friday night and continue through closing Sunday. On the red line, trains will operate every 20 minutes between Shady Grove and Glenmont. There will be service every 10 minutes from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. between Shady Grove and Farragut North and between Glenmont and Judiciary Square.

On the yellow, orange and blue lines, trains will operate every 24 minutes.

Finally, green line trains will operate at regular weekend daytime intervals, every 12 minutes, between College Park and Branch Avenue. Trains will single track between Greenbelt and College Park. Anyone traveling to and from the Greenbelt station only may have a longer commute as a result.
