Orioles Agree To Terms With Top 2 Draft Picks

BALTIMORE (AP) -- The Baltimore Orioles have reached agreement with their top two draft picks, high school players Hunter Harvey and Josh Hart.

Harvey, a right-handed pitcher from North Carolina, was taken 22nd overall. Hart, an outfielder from Georgia, was selected with the 37th overall pick.

As a senior with Bandys High School, the 18-year-old Harvey was 8-0 with 116 strikeouts in 11 games. He's the son of former big league pitcher Bryan Harvey.

Harvey is the third consecutive right-handed pitcher taken by the Orioles in the first round, following Dylan Bundy in 2011 and Kevin Gausman in 2012. Bundy pitched for the Orioles last year and Gausman is on the current roster.

The 6-foot, 180-pound Hart batted .449 with 34 steals as a senior at Parkview High.
