Police: Person Shot In Ocean City, 2 In Custody

OOCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) — Ocean City police say two Pennsylvania men are in custody after an early-morning shooting that left a man injured.

Police say the shooting occurred after 2 a.m. Saturday in the area of 18th Street and Coastal Highway.

The victim is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and another man was shot through his clothing but not injured.

Police say the shooting occurred after two men in a motel pool got into an argument with a group of people on the street.

A man identified as Elvin Jovany Mendez-Espada, of Reading, Pa., is accused of taking out a gun and shooting at two men. Police say another suspect, Carwin Duarte, also of Reading, was also taken into custody.

The two men face assorted charges. It wasn’t immediately clear if they had lawyers.
