BALTIMORE (AP) -- Chris Davis has set a Baltimore Orioles record by hitting his 31st home run before the All-Star break.

Davis connected in the second inning against Yankees right-hander Hiroki Kuroda on Sunday night. It was the slugger's third home run in two games.

The previous franchise record for home runs before the All-Star break was 30, by Brady Anderson in 1996. That season, Anderson set the club record for homers in a season with 50.

Davis leads the majors in home runs and has 80 RBIs, second in the AL behind Detroit's Miguel Cabrera.

Davis is the first player in major league history to have at least 30 homers and 25 doubles before July. The last major leaguer to have 30 homers before the All-Star break was Albert Pujols in 2009.
