Health Officials Close 3 Baltimore County Beaches

TOWSON, Md. (AP) -- Baltimore County health officials have closed three beaches because of high bacteria counts.

Officials said Wednesday that Genesee Valley Outdoor Learning Center (upper pond) in Parkton, and Oregon Ridge Park Beach and Beaver Dam Swim Club Beach, both in Cockeysville, were found unsuitable for swimming.

The Baltimore County Department of Health says the high bacteria counts are the result of unusually high amounts of rainfall in recent weeks.
