Orioles insider Brittany Ghirolli joined the Norris and Davis show to discuss the O's weekend series against the Yankees in New York.

Steve started out by asking Brittany about a potential plan B for the closing roll, since Jim Johnson has been struggling. She said there is not really a secondary option. Relievers are fickle, year to year you will not get the same results. Just look at what happened with Jose Valverde in Detriot. Gausman would be the next closest thing to a plan B, although maturity issues are the biggest concern.

Steve then asked Brittany to compare Manny Machado's play against the Yankees when he ranged far to his right and threw accross his body to the Brooks Robinson similar play in the World Series. Brittany said that Manny made it harder then it had to be by dropping the ball originally, however it being the World Series makes the Brooks Robinson play more impressive.

Ken then asked Ghirolli about Adam Jones current slump. She said that sometimes all it takes is one big hit to get a player out of a slump, and the HR against NY could definitly be that hit. He is going to have better at bats in the future, he is a critical part of the team. Baseball is all about peaks and vallys.
