SCHOOLEY’S MOUNTAIN, N.J. (AP) — Family and friends are saying goodbye to an Ocean City, Md., police officer killed when a small plane crashed into the ocean off the resort town.

Funeral services for 27-year-old Joshua Adickes of Berlin, Md., are being held Tuesday at Highlands Presbyterian Church in Schooley’s Mountain, N.J. A burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery and a reception will be held at Schooley’s Mountain Fire Company.

Adickes and 43-year-old Thomas Geoghegan Jr. of Ocean City were killed June 30, when their small military-style plane crashed into the ocean shortly after taking off from the Ocean City Municipal Airport. The bodies were recovered the next day.
