Missing Autistic Boy Found Dead In Abandoned Car In D.C.

WASHINGTON (WJZ)--The search for a missing autistic boy in Washington, D.C. comes to a tragic end.

Michael Kingsburg, 7, disappeared from his backyard in Northeast, D.C. Sunday morning.

Monday night, his body was found inside an abandoned car--located in an alley just two doors down from Kingsbury's home.

Neighbors are questioning how the boy wasn't founded earlier.

"It's just sad," said neighbor Maria Beckham, as she fought back tears. "I just don't know. There's no words to say."

"We missed that. I just don't know how," said Gaston McVea, volunteer searcher. "I'm really sick that we did."

Kinsbury's family has been distraught throughout the search for him. His mother says it wasn't like her son to wander away.

Police aren't sure how Kingsbury ended up in the car or how he died.
