Glen Burnie Man Killed When Truck Leaves Road, Hits Bridge

GLEN BURNIE, Md. (AP) -- Anne Arundel County police say a man was killed when the pickup truck he was driving left the road and hit a bridge pillar, trapping him inside.

It happened about 7 a.m. Wednesday on Route 10 South in Glen Burnie. Officers say 33-year-old Chris Donald Pfeil of Glen Burnie was driving a truck north when it traveled across the center grass median and all the southbound lanes.

Police say the truck hit a tree, turned onto its side and hit a bridge pillar with its roof, trapping the driver.

Pfeil was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident is under investigation.
