Hall of Famer and former Oriole great Brooks Robinson joined the Norris and Davis show to discuss Oriole baseball.
LISTEN TO THE FULL INTERVIEW WITH THE ORIOLE GREAT HERE:
Steve started out by asking Robinson about his health. Brooks said that he has been doing well and has his strength back, he even played some golf the other day.
Ed asked Robinson about his thoughts on Manny Machado. The hall of famer said that Manny makes all the plays and that he has truly found a spot. He has no troubles making the transition from short to third. Steve asked about Machado moving back to shortstop. Brooks said that the Orioles should keep Manny at third and keep Hardy around. Brooks said that after his first fifty games he moved from second to third and it was the best move he ever made.
Ed then asked for his thoughts on Davis. He has a different approach this year. He has slowed his body down and when he touches the ball in this ball park the ball flys out, he even hits line drives out of here. Robinson said he deserves to be an all-star.
Steve then asked the former great how many times he makes it to a ball game. Brooks said that he goes to Camden Yards about 4-5 times a year and that he will actually be back at the yard tonight.
Steve then asked about his thoughts on Buck. Robinson said that the players have really rallied around their manager and followed his lead. They all bought into his program. He recalled one story of how Buck showed Adam that if he wants to be a leader of the team he needs to hustle out every ground ball–since that meeting Robinson has never seen anyone play harder than Adam Jones.
Robinson ended the interview by saying he believes anyone in the division could win the division this year.
