Pedestrian Hit By Two Cars, Killed In Frederick

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- The Frederick County Sheriff's office says a man has died after he was hit twice by vehicles along Buckeystown Pike.

Officials say 32-year-old Levon Duvall Hallenbeck of Frederick was walking along northbound lanes when he was hit by a car late Wednesday. But the sheriff's office says the car, described by witnesses as a four-door car, possibly a Chevrolet Malibu, did not stop.

A second vehicle struck Hallenbeck a short time later, but the sheriff's office says the driver, who did not realize the man was lying in the road, stopped and remained on the scene.

Officials are asking anyone with information about the driver of the first vehicle that hit Hallenbeck to contact Cpl. Paul Colantuno at 301-600-3908.
