2 Killed When Car Crashes Into Tree On Eastbound Route 40

WHITE MARSH, Md. (WJZ)-- Two people were killed in an early Friday morning crash on eastbound Route 40.

Police and fire units were called to scene just after 5:30 a.m.  at Pulaski Highway and White Marsh Boulevard for a single car crash.

Officers discovered that the car left the roadway and struck a tree.

Two victims, an adult male and an adult female, were located inside the vehicle and pronounced dead on scene.

All lanes are closed on eastbound MD 40 prior to White Marsh. Drivers are urged to take alternate routes and use the Maryland 511 service for traffic updates.

The Crash Team is investigating.

There is no additional information at this time pending notification of next of kin.
