2 Sites Left In Bid For New PG County Hospital

LARGO, Md. (AP) -- The search for a new hospital location in Prince George's County is down to two locations.

The Washington Post reports that Largo Town Center and the shuttered Landover Mall are the remaining two sites in the running to replace Prince George's Hospital Center.

A final decision is expected by September.

Officials are looking to replace the financially troubled hospital with a full-scale medical complex and trauma center. The new $645 million regional hospital is expected to open in 2017 and be part of the University of Maryland Medical System.

Properties around the Morgan Boulevard Metro station and Woodmore Towne Center shopping center had already been rejected as possibilities.
