Mike Meltser of Houston SportsRadio610 joined the Glenn Younes Show to talk about Houston and Baltimore sports.
First Mike and Glenn talked about the Astros struggles in the past few years. “You can actually defend what the Astros are doing because if you look at a trend in baseball, it pays a lot to lose. It actually behooves you what the Astros are going to end up accomplishing which is going to be getting three number one picks in a row which has never happened before in the history of baseball.”
Then Mike talked about today’s trade for Bud Norris. He gave some insight on what type of player O’s fans should expect Norris to be. “The Orioles are getting a solid pitcher who’s got a plus arm.” He elaborated that Norris has a great strikeout to walk ratio. “He’s not going to walk too many guys.” But he did warn fans that Norris isn’t known to pitch deep into games. “He is somebody who does not go deep into games…Bud struggles to even reach a full six, you’ll be lucky to get seven. That’s my biggest knock on Bud Norris.”
Glenn and Mike then switched over to football and discussed Ed Reed joining the Houston Texans this year. Mike talked about the injury concerns surround Reed heading into the season,“He can coach himself to be ready to be on a football field. You know when Ed Reed is going to know when he’s ready and he knows how to get himself to play.”
