Jeremy Conn: What To Watch For In Preseason Game 1…

There are a few things that you should be watching out for this evening when the Ravens play the Buccaneers. First and foremost everyone will be watching the receivers to see how everyone not named Torrey Smith.  A lot of eyes on Tandon Doss and Deonte Thompson to see if they could possibly be starters at some point this season.  You will also want to check out the tight ends to see if any of them have potential to put up numbers in this offense.  With Pitta out for the year and Dickson going through some injury issues, you may have to rely on some guys you are not familiar with.

On the defensive side, I’ll be checking out the secondary.  You will have 2 new starters at safety and I’m curious to see the progress the cornerbacks have made since last year.  Webb is coming back from another knee injury and Jimmy Smith needs to show that he can be a big time contributor in the secondary.  I also want to watch the inside linebackers to see  what life is like without Ray Lewis.  I have high expectations for Arthur Brown and Matt Elam and I’m excited to see what they are capable of doing.
