WEATHER BLOG: Nice Night

A very weak shortwave was just enough to enhance clouds from southern Pa. eastward to the mid-Atlantic coast earlier Saturday. But we expect clouds along with the shower risk to diminish through Saturday evening and we're setting up for a pretty nice night around the region.

Heading into Sunday, there will be a weak low pressure system moving through Virginia combined with another weak shortwave that is expected to move through Pennsylvania Sunday night. The two features can bring a shower or thunderstorm in the area Sunday into Sunday evening. The humidity will rebound into early next week as well, and the building moisture can help support a few showers, especially by Tuesday.

There is good agreement on a substantial cold front to move through the area Tuesday afternoon/evening. The front will combine with good moisture and instability ahead of the front to spark widespread showers and thunderstorms, some of which can turn severe. The jet looks to increase heading into the evening which can help support some stronger storms as well. So certainly something we will have to keep an eye on as we get closer to Tuesday. #mdwx
