Orange Wednesday In Baltimore
DUNDALK, Md. (WJZ) -- You've heard of Purple Fridays to support the Ravens. Now, a similar effort is underway to support the Orioles each week.
The Orioles are in the thick of the playoff race, and there's a sea of orange at Camden Yards.
Nancy Cook is the Orioles fan who began Orange Wednesday.
"I wanted something positive we could focus on. For some reason, I thought of Purple Friday and that we didn't have a day for the Orioles," Cook said. "I came up with the idea of using Wednesday. Wednesday is Hump Day and the Orioles need help over the hump, so I decided to call it Orange Wednesdays to see if we could end up with a tradition similar to Purple Fridays."
It's catching on with lots of orange T-shirts, shoes, socks and hats at Poor Boys in Dundalk.
