BALTIMORE (AP) -- A 23-year-old man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for raping a minor in a home on Fort Meade.

Daheem Bryant-Royal was also ordered to register as a sex offender at sentencing Wednesday in federal court in Baltimore. The military base is exclusive federal jurisdiction.

Bryant-Royal was convicted of raping a minor female on Sept. 4, 2011. According to evidence presented at trial, the victim, who was staying at a home on Fort Meade, became very drunk after attending a party.

Witnesses testified that Bryant-Royal went into the bathroom where the victim was taken after she became ill, and raped her.
