BALTIMORE (WJZ)— Four supervisors are under investigation after two inmates were mistakenly released from the Baltimore Central Booking and Intake Center (BCBIC) in the last 48 hours.

Cornelius Hayes was released at about 4:45 a.m. on Thursday, despite an outstanding detainer from Baltimore County for drugs.

Jeffrey Bryant was released at about 3:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 16. He had also been detained on drug charges.

Neither detainee was facing any charges of violence.

Law enforcement officials have been notified and are working to locate the offenders. The DPSCS Internal Investigative Unit is investigating the releases in question.

BCBIC processes everyone arrested in Baltimore City, or about 60,000 arrestees per year.
