Orioles have another huge series this weekend against the Oakland Athletics. The A’s are coming off of a series where they lost 2 of 3 against the Mariners and the O’s just lost 2 of 3 to the Tampa Rays. Both of these teams still have their hopes firmly set on winning the division, but they are both right in the thick of the Wild Card race. This series looms large because it could come down to tie breakers for a Wild Card team.
The Orioles will face 2 right-handed pitchers and one crafty lefty. We all know the Orioles have had their struggles with left-handed pitching. I’m gonna keep a close eye on the closer’s role. I still think Buck will go with Jim Johnson, but he did mix it up a little against the Rays in the final game of the series. I’m actually heading out to the game on Sunday with my family. I am hoping for a sweep, but realistically ill take a series win.
