Lacquer Spill Creates Hazmat Situation At Essex Factory

ESSEX, Md. (WJZ)— A tanker leaked gallons of lacquer at the Crown Cork and Seal building in Essex Friday afternoon.

It happened just after noon at the factory located on 8801 Citation Road.

The factory section of the building was evacuated while Maryland Department of Environment and hazmat crews worked to clean up the spill.

There were no reports of injuries.
