Md. Woman Hit By 91-Year-Old Driver Dies

WHEATON, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County Police say a 70-year-old woman hit by a car as she crossed the street in Wheaton has died.

Police say Barbara Jean Green of Washington, D.C., was hit as she tried to cross Georgia Avenue in a crosswalk on Thursday afternoon. Green was expected to survive when she was taken to Suburban Hospital, but police say her condition deteriorated and she died early Friday.

Police say the 91-year-old woman who was driving the Honda Accord that hit Green and her passenger were not injured.

The police department's collision reconstruction unit is investigating the crash.
