1 Trapped After Serious Accident On Old Mountain Road

JOPPA, Md. (WJZ) -- A seriously injured person was trapped in a vehicle after an accident on Old Mountain Road. He was rescued shortly thereafter.

At least three vehicles were involved in the accident, which occurred around 3:30 p.m. Monday. An individual was trapped inside one of the three vehicles: a dump truck, a pickup truck and a car. The car went off the road and into the woods; the person was trapped inside the car.

Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to extricate that person and a helicopter flew that person to Shock Trauma.

Drivers are advised to avoid North Mountain Road. It's closed between Singer and Old Joppa Roads.
