It seems Oriole fans are saying, “This is a big series” a lot lately. Just a couple of years ago, August meant it was time to devote all of your time to the National Football League and the Baltimore Ravens. Now, the fans have the pleasure of trying to split their time between supporting both teams. What a great problem to have.
The O’s begin a three game series against the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday, which happens to be the start of a nine game road trip that is crucial. It seems the Birds have done, just enough to stay in the hunt. Well, maybe the other teams in the American League have done just enough to keep one another in the hunt as well.
With the Red Sox, the Yankees and the Indians on the schedule over the next week and a half, the men in Orange and Black can either find themselves in good position for either the division or a Wild Card, or find themselves scrambling down the stretch.
What a great time to be a sports fan in Baltimore. The Orioles showing that 2012 was no fluke makes for a very interesting ending to the 2013 season.
