TOWSON, Md. (AP) -- Baltimore County police have charged a teenager in the home when a police officer was fatally shot with firearms violations.

Officers said Thursday Taquan Barney, 17, of Catonsville has been charged as an adult. He is being held without bail.

Police say officers found a loaded .22 caliber handgun in Barney's front pants pocket.

Officer Jason Schneider was shot and killed Wednesday morning during an exchange of gunfire at the Catonsville home after law enforcers tried to serve a search warrant.
