Charles County Speed Cameras To Be Reactivated

LA PLATA, Md. (AP) — The Charles County Sheriff’s Office says it will reactivate the three speed cameras that it had stopped using after one camera’s cement pad was incorrectly placed.

Deputies said Friday that the speed cameras near McDonough High School and Craik Elementary School Pomfret will be activated starting Monday.

The office had deactivated the cameras earlier this month because the camera pad at Jenifer Elementary School on Berry Road in Waldorf had been built outside of the school zone signs, putting it out of compliance with state regulations. Deputies say all sites now meet requirements.
