Ravens Cut QB Haney, RB Carter And Others

OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) -- The Baltimore Ravens have cut Caleb Haney and Dayne Crist, leaving two quarterbacks on the roster heading into next week's regular season opener in Denver.

Starting quarterback Joe Flacco will be again backed by Tyrod Taylor. Haney saw limited action during the preseason and Crist was signed last week after Taylor was being tested for a concussion.

Other cuts Friday included running back Delone Carter, who was obtained in a trade last week with Indianapolis.

Also cut by the defending Super Bowl champions were running back Anthony Allen, tackles Jordan Devey and Rogers Gaines, tight end Alex Silvestro, cornerback Marc Anthony, linebackers Nigel Carr and Brandon Copeland, and center Reggie Stephens.

Outside linebacker D.J. Bryant was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury.
