FORT WASHINGTON, Md. (AP) — A Prince George’s County firefighter is injured after a two-alarm fire broke out in Fort Washington.

Authorities say the fire tore through an apartment complex Sunday afternoon and destroyed much of the roof. Fire crews were called from across the area, including from Fairfax County, Va.

One firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion and an injured hand.

The blaze broke out in the 500-block of Wilson Bridge Drive. The Red Cross is assisting five families that have been displaced.
