The Ravens start their title defense in the place where a lot of big moments were made, in Denver. Nate Lundy of 104.3FM The Fan in Denver joined Zinno on Last Call to preview the match-up. One of the many story lines of the game is that Elvis Dumervil is now a Raven. Dumervil was with the Broncos for the first eight years of his career. “Letting him go was a huge mistake. I’m disappointed he’s not in Denver anymore,” said Lundy of Dumervil.

Peyton Manning is still trying to win that second ring. The Broncos aren’t short of weapons on offense to help him. Wes Welker was signed this off-season to give them another top flight wide receiver. “He is enjoying the new toy that he has in Wes Welker,” Lundy said. He may not be a triple-figures catch reciever, but high-80s is likely. That’s only because of all the weapons on the offense.

Finally, Joe Flacco is also part of this newly budding rivalry. Lundy explained, “You know the long ball is going to be part of the equation. Flacco has got a great arm.” It’s not hard to forget the pass from the AFC Divisional Playoff game to Jacoby Jones. The match-up Thursday night should be an excellent moment for the Ravens and the NFL to start the 2013 season.
