Towson Routs Holy Cross 49-7

WORCHESTER, Mass. (AP) -- Terrence West scored twice to break the school record for career touchdowns to lead Towson to a 49-7 victory over Holy Cross on Saturday.

West, who is the fifth-leading rusher in Towson history, scored on a 1-yard run in the second quarter and again on a 3-yard plunge in the third for his 49th career TD to break Jason Corle's 1999 record. West finished with 121 yards to lead the Tigers ground attack, which tallied 286 yards.

Peter Athens completed 17 of 23 for 232 passing yards for the Tigers.

Thomas Bradley returned a pass interception 90 yards for a touchdown to cap a 28-point first half for Towson (2-0) and help the Tigers to their sixth-consecutive win, dating back to last season.

Mike Fess scored on a touchdown pass from Ryan Laughlin in the first quarter for Holy Cross (0-2) for the Crusaders' only TD.
