ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- A festival is marking the 1786 Annapolis National Convention.

The event begins Wednesday in Annapolis and continues through Saturday.

The festival is being called "Prelude to Philadelphia: The 1786 Annapolis National Convention." It will showcase the role Annapolis played in the formation of the United States as the bridge between the end of the Revolutionary War and the Constitutional Convention.

The festival will feature an exhibit titled "America's 14 Forgotten Presidents of Congress 1774-1789." The festival also will feature a re-staging of the 1786 Annapolis National Convention with presentations by elected officials.

Annapolis Mayor Joshua Cohen, Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller and St. John's College President Christopher Nelson are scheduled to participate.
