Man Accused Of Ramming State Police Cruiser

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State police have arrested a man they say rammed a trooper's cruiser several times, injuring the officer.

Authorities say the trooper was traveling about 11 a.m. on Sept. 6 in Frederick with the cruiser's emergency equipment activated. Police say an SUV came up behind the trooper's vehicle and repeatedly rammed it, eventually forcing it up an embankment.

Law enforcers pursued the vehicle into Virginia and West Virginia, where they lost sight of it. The injured trooper was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.

On Wednesday, state police arrested Dock E. Workman, 30, of Middletown in the incident. He is charged with assault and traffic violations. Workman is being held on $350,000 bond.
