At Least 2 Displaced In Ellicott City Apartment Fire

ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (WJZ) -- A fast moving apartment fire in Howard County leaves at least two people without a home.

The blaze was first reported around 8:30 p.m. in the 8900-block of Town and Country Boulevard in Ellicott City.

Witnesses reported seeing residents trapped and hanging out the window of their ground-floor apartment.

Firefighters were able to assist those people and their two service dogs to safety.

No one was injured.

The apartment, however, appears to be a total loss.  Those residents are being relocated to another apartment in the complex.

Several other apartments sustained minor smoke damage.

Investigators are now trying to determine what caused the fire.
