'Blair Witch' Director Negotiating For Frederick Site

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- The director behind "The Blair Witch Project" says he is still negotiating with the owners of a vacant Maryland shopping mall to be the setting of his next horror film.

The Frederick News-Post reports Eduardo Sanchez has his sights set on the Frederick Towne Mall for his next movie. He says he is still negotiating but is confident he will be able to use the building and start shooting the film by early next year.

Sanchez held a casting call Saturday in Frederick for area residents to audition for his upcoming movie, "Maulers."

Sanchez says his film is a horror movie about a group of teenagers that goes to a rave in an abandoned mall. It ends up being a trap.
